THE VIEW FROM VIVIAN'S FARM
an Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'The View from Vivian's Farm'
Oil on canvas panel
8 x 8

Thank you to our new SVPAP member, Vivian Brandler, for
inviting us to her beautiful farm to paint.  There were
so many potential paintings available because every
where you looked there was a new and different view
just waiting to be painted.  This is a view looking
across the road from Vivian's farm.

Thank you, Vivian for the wonderful day of painting,
and your very gracious hospitality!

Here's the second piece I did while I was there - a one hour
study of a chair that was outside by the chicken coop.

Here's a picture of some of the artist's who came to paint:

FOGGY MORNING
An Original Plein Air
Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Foggy Morning'
Oil
 16 x 8

Yesterday morning we painted at Samuel Lewis State Park,
and the area was completely fogged in - you could
not even see the view of the river.  However, the
fog created such beautiful, muted color and it wasn't
hard to just jump in and start painting!  I liked the way
these rocks provided a bit of color to the scene.

SOLD!
AN EARLY SPRING
An Original Plein Air
Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'An Early Spring'
Oil on linen panel
 11 x 14

Today was one of those days that was just an incredible gift.
I was able to go right out into the orchard with a good friend
and fellow artist to paint the early peach blossoms plein air.
There was a threat of fog, but it had burned off by
9:00 AM leaving sun and blue sky and warm temperatures.
My face hurts from smiling so much...and the memory
of this fantastic day will stay with me a very long time!

My thanks to the very special people who let us come
paint on their property.

A VERY SPECIAL COMMISSION
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'A Very Special Commission'
Oil on linen panel
6 x 12

A little while ago, my grandson approached me with
a very serious look on his face, and he asked me
if I would so something for him.  He wanted me to
paint three of his favorite stuffed dogs.  I asked
the important questions - what color background,
should all the puppies be on one canvas, or
did he want an individual canvas for each one.

Payment will be made in hugs and kisses...
my favorite currency.

THE RED SHED
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'The Red Shed'
Oil on linen panel
 9 x 12

Last Summer I painted at the Beech Spring Farm
as part of the Gettysburg Festival.  It's such a
beautiful location, and I especially liked this red
garden shed in the late afternoon light - as well
as that great row of lettuce!  Can't wait to get
my own garden started this year...fresh veggies...yum.
