THE DANCE
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'The Dance'

Oil
10 x 8

This painting is of the woods up by our cabin.
The leaves were spectacular last fall,
and I loved the way the light was dancing
across the brilliantly colored leaves.

SPRING BLOSSOMS
An Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Spring Blossoms'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil
8 x 10

On the first morning of painting in the Camp Hill
Plein Air Event, several artists gathered in the
beautiful yard of Cecelia Lyden's neighbor.  The
azaleas and dogwoods were in their glory, along with
many other flowers.  It was also very nice to finish
up around noon so we could go back to Cecelia's
for a delightful lunch in her gorgeous home
(Thank you, Cecelia!)

UNDER THE ROSE ARBOR
An Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Under the Rose Arbor'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil
8 x 10

I found this beautiful Rose Arbor on
St. John's Alley in Camp Hill while painting
in the Camp Hill Plein Air Event.  Everything about
the scene appealed to me except one
thing - there were no blooms, only rosebuds.
I really wanted to add the roses, and was so
glad when the owner came out to see what
I was painting and I was able to ask her
what color the roses were when they were
in flower!  That's one of the advantages
of being an artist, you can paint in the roses
even before they have bloomed.

LEREW ROAD SPRINGHOUSE
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Lerew Road Springhouse'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil
6 x 8

Early this Spring, I was driving the back roads
to get to an appointment when it started to snow.
It was delicate and misty, and transformed the
landscape into a fairyland.  I was so glad that I
finished up with my business early because I took
an even less traveled road, rolled down the windows in
my car and took pictures as I drove slowly and
carefully down the road (constantly checking to make sure
no one was behind me).  I know I had a HUGE
smile on my face the entire time!

MORNING MIST
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Morning Mist'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil
4 x 4

I have a file on my computer that contains
photographs from a week I spent in Maine
with my daughter and her family.  This tiny
painting is a combination of two photographs,
and mostly memory.  I loved waking up before
anyone else and sitting along the edge of
the lake watching the sun come up...just me,
a cup of coffee, and Mother Nature.

SACRE-COEUR BASILICA
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Sacre-Coeur Basilica'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil
6 x 8

A little study of the Sacre-Coeur Basilica from
my recent trip to Paris, France with my daughter.
On our very first day in Paris, we went up to the
second station of the Eiffel Tower right as the sun was
starting to sink in the sky.  The entire city
was bathed in a beautiful golden light - it
was absolutely breath-taking, and an amazing
way to start our adventure in France!
