Day 92

I was so pleased to find this tiny seckel pear with
its little leaf still attached.  This pear is no taller than
one and a half inches, but it is packed with gorgeous,
rich color.  Even the dried leaf had some beautiful
dark golden green.  I was tempted to prop it up to
make the pear more upright - but it's own quirky
leaning stance was just more fun to paint.

Day 91

It took me a little while to get this eggplant 'comfortably'
sitting on my canvas.  After a few wiped-out efforts, I
made the canvas vertical and things finally started to come
together.  The more I observed my eggplant, I was amazed
at all of the reds I was seeing in those deep purples.
Now that I have finished this, this lovely eggplant
is going to become a delicious side dish for our supper!

Day 90

I loved this pair (no pun intended), and the interesting
shadow that the stem created on my backdrop.
It reminded me of a pas de deus in ballet, where
two dancers dance together.

I am very fortunate to have orchards all around where
I live, and my favorite is Hollabaugh's which is right
up the road from me in Biglerville, PA.
Recently I called them because I wanted to get some
fruit that still had the stems and some leaves attached.
They were so gracious - they actually drove me
right up into the orchard and let me pick out
exactly what I was looking for.  (Just writing this
reminded me that I need to go there soon to
purchase some more honey crisp apples!)

BABE GONE BAD
Daily Paintworks
'Paint Your Pig' Challenge

'Babe Gone Bad'
Oil on Canvas Panel
6 x 6

When the movie 'Babe' came out, I fell in love.  Who wouldn't
fall in love with the adorable pig who was the main
character of this enchanting film?  Someone gave me this
little stuffed Babe that was distributed with McDonald's
Happy Meals.  One day I decided to alter his appearance
a bit, and that was when Babe Gone Bad was born!

He stayed on my desk at work until I retired, and now
he has a reserved spot at the top of my easel.
Babe is my muse...'That'll do pig...'
