SHADES OF LAVENDER
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Shades of Lavender'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil
6 x 6

I have been so deep into my painting lately that it
feels as though I have fallen off the edge of the
earth.  Because I am working on new pieces for two shows that
I am having this year, I've not put very many paintings
up on the internet (via my blog or facebook) so that
people will be enticed to come see them in person.

This is a small painting for a solo exhibit I will be having
this May at History on High in Carlisle, PA.  History on High
offers this opportunity to one person per year, and I was
very humbled and honored that they have asked me to
be their exhibiting artist for 2013.

Opening Reception
Thursday, May 9, 5PM - 7PM
Light refreshments will be served

SOLD
AWAKENING
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Awakening'

Oil
8 x 10

This past Wednesday was a snow day - meteorologists
were warning of snow accumulations that could
amount to as much as 10 - 12 inches.  I cancelled classes
for the day, and started  to paint a Spring scene.

We didn't get the predicted amounts of snow, but
it was a great day for painting.  This is a view
not all that far from my house, and is just one
of the many orchards in our area.  I loved the
new leaves of the red maples, and all of those
glorious apple trees in bloom.

Spring stirs the land awake from a very grey winter!

VIEW FROM THE EISENHOWER FARM
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'View from the Eisenhower Farm'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil
10 x 20

Last Summer I was very fortunate to be able to
paint at the Eisenhower Farm, which is part of
the Gettysburg National Military Park.  I did a small
plein air study, and used it along with some
photographs I had taken to do this larger studio piece.
