'AFTER THE STORM'
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'After the Storm'

Oil on Stretched Canvas
18 x 14

The view out my dining room window this past Tuesday
as the sun was going down.  The day had started with
a brilliant pink sunrise, and sleet and snow followed until
noon.  These clouds were the remnants of the
winter's day.

MADE TO LAST
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Made to Last'
Oil on Stretched Canvas
20 x 24
NFS

When I was only married a couple of years, my
mother handed me an old shoe box that had
the words 'Family Jewels' written on the lid.
When I opened it, I was quite surprised to find
some beautiful antique hand tools.

For years I thought about painting them, and
when one of my students offered to bring in some
more antique tools, this still life became a reality.
(Thank you Fred Baldwin!)

The amazing thing is that none of these tools
require electricity, and yet they still work as well
as they did the day they were made.
Most of these tools are at least one hundred
years old.  Hope I am working that good when
I'm that age!

THE LAST BLOOMS OF SUMMER
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'The Last Blooms of Summer'
Oil on Panel
8 x 6

It was a perfect day to work on this little
painting of some rose blooms that I had
plucked from my garden before
the cold and frost set in last year.  It makes me think
of the warmth and sunshine of Summer, and
hopes that it brings that same feeling to you!

WINTER STREAM
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Winter Stream'
Oil on Linen Panel
14 x 11

This is a small stream up on the mountain that only
exists when there's been signifcant rain, or there's been
melt-off from snow.  There have been times when there is so
much water here that it creates tiny waterfalls
as it runs over the larger rocks.
A beautiful, solitary place...

AUGUST FIELDS
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'August Fields'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil on Linen Panel
18 x 24

This painting depicts one of my absolute favorite farms, which is
close to where I live.  When I drive by here, I often have to
pull over just to admire the contours of the land, and
the way one hill slopes into another. I hope that you get
the warm feel of the sun that I was attempting to paint,
especially today with the cold winter wind blowing!

FINISHED!
FLOATING ALONG
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Floating Along'
Oil on Canvas
24 x 30

Several years ago we were in Maine with my daughter and
her family, staying at a wonderful cabin right along the 'pond'.
I had never been kayaking before, but my daughter and I
decided to take a trip along the 'Serpentine' - a four mile
round trip.  It was incredible to be at water level, observing
the flora and fauna.  It was an incredible experience.

This painting is 95% from memories of our journey...the
soft summer breeze, floating along side the gorgeous water lilies, the
amazing blues and greens of the water, and the wonderful,
unforgettable time I had with my daughter.

WHAT'S ON MY EASEL TODAY
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

After posting a new painting every day in the month of January,
I started to feel as though I was really falling behind in February!
Actually, I have been working on some new pieces that I hope to
exhibit some time in this new year.  Above is a painting of some
water lilies that are on my easel right now, with a detail
of the painting below.  I am getting pretty close to the 'watery'
look I want to achieve...

THIRTY PAINTINGS IN THIRTY DAYS COLLAGE
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell
Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge

Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Collage
Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge

This challenge was quite an experience, and it's
really interesting to sit back and look at all thirty of
the paintings I did during the thirty days
assembled together in one collage.

Would I do this again?  YES!
Am I crazy?  WITHOUT A DOUBT!
