Summer Hay

Worked on this one this afternoon. I was trying to get that strong summer light, and also distance.

Snowy Hill Oil 6" X 8"

This is a small winter landscape I did as part of a challenge on the Landscape Forum of WetCanvas.com. I gave myself a limited palette, and a limited time in which to complete the painting, and was pretty pleased with the results.

Cortland Oil 5" X 7"

Each year on my birthday, I have a friend who gives me a bag of the most amazing apples. This year one of the varieties was the Cortland apple pictured in this painting. I just had to paint it because I was blown away by the beautiful dark red, mottled skin, and the almost perfectly white flesh inside. I am going to give this to her for Christmas to thank her for her thoughtfulness!

Fall Fire Oil 6" X 8"

This is a small oil landscape I painted today. I was especially intrigued by the way the light was hitting the yellow tree, and also in the variation of the greens which help to set off the brighter colors.
