This is a very old railroad bridge that spans the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA. It is just upriver from my previous post 'Early Fall Along the Susquehanna'. I was lucky enough to see a train crossing the bridge while I was taking reference photographs for this painting. I actually took the photos while we were crossing the river over the George Wade Bridge, and was amazed that the pictures came out so well!

And here is my favorite bridge !.. Lovely painting, pretty bridge... hard to paint too! Too many arches. When I'm looking at this one, I always want to be in the boat right on the middle of river to get a better shot of it.. never got a chance.
I love this one Claire, especially the sky. I often see scenes while whizzing past in the car and wishing I could take a pic.
Thanks, Tatiana. There are an awful lot of arches on the bridge - but that's what makes it so attractive. The best view would be from a boat on the river!
Thank you, Diana. The clouds were so pretty and soft that day.
Wonderful atmosphere. That big sky is so beautiful!
And I see the colors coming in the trees. Beautiful piece Claire - love the structure in the bridge too.
Thanks so much, Gwen. I really appreciate your comments.
Thank you, Gary!
