HAUNTED
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Haunted'
Oil  7 x 5
Available

I did this painting as part of the Daily Paintworks
'The Lincoln Challenge'.  I've always thought that
Lincoln had such a haunted, tragic countenance, and I was
hoping to catch that in doing this portrait of him.  It's not all
that difficult to understand why he looked as though he
carried the weight of the world on his shoulders.
I chose to paint him using only burnt umber, ultramarine blue
and white as part of the 'black and white' aspect of the challenge.

eerie and hauntingly realistic.

Awesome job, Claire, and beautiful use of only three colors to bring this to life. I've always thought Lincoln was a handsome man and I still do.
