'Romance in the Garden'
Oil 12 x 9
Available
This past Friday, I painted at the PA Garden Show of York.
A room that brought the feeling of an interior space set up in
the open air of a garden, (created by landscape designer Kathy Elliot
of Rockelman's Nursery), immediately caught my attention.
I quickly set up my gear to paint this intimate setting of table and two
chairs, wine and flowers - all set under a pergola with draped corners
that added up to a perfect spot for romance.
As I was painting, I kept thinking how much I would like to have
a space like this in my own garden at home (so I am hoping my
husband reads this blog entry!)

I need a place like this right outside my studio!!!! Wonderful!!
I love this piece, Claire! You've indeed captured the romance here. And do my eyes deceive me or do you have budding greens on your trees???? (We had snow all weekend...) At any rate, you've so caught the mood and I sure think this is so very pretty!
Thank you, Kimberly!
Thank you, Sherry. I used some artistic license and painted the sky in - these garden vignettes were all inside, and I didn't think the green cement block walls that were in the background were very 'romantic'!
Beautifully done, Claire. And, with all that foot traffic going on around you!
Thanks, Pat. I had a good time, and enjoyed being around all of the beautiful flowers.
