HAY BALES III AND IV
Original Oil Paintings
by Claire Beadon Carnell

Hay Bales III
Oil   5 x 7

Hay Bales IV
Oil   5 x 7

This week was the last session of classes for the Spring
session, and I held a special mini-workshop with my
students demonstrating painting with a very limited
palette.  The only colors used for these paintings were
Cad Yellow Lemon, Cad Red Light, Cad Red Deep, French
Ultramarine Blue and White.  I also supplied each student with
the same photograph of hay bales in a field that I had taken
last year.  No two paintings were alike - not even the four
thirty-minute demo paintings I did for each class,
and a lot was learned about mixing colors in the process.

Here are two of the demo paintings I did - which one do you prefer?
I know which one is my favorite.

If you would like to see more of my work,
please visit my website or my blog. If you are
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.

I agree with Dana and I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite myself!
