Sneak Preview of
WHERE JEFFERSON ONCE STOOD
Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

Sneak Preview of  'Where Jefferson Once Stood'
(Jefferson's Rock, Harper's Ferry, West VA)
Oil on Canvas
10 x 8

This coming November, artists Deborah Richardson, Peter Plant
and myself will have our plein air work of Civil War battlefields
displayed at the Delaplaine Art Center in Frederick, MD in an
exhibit entitled 'Hallowed Grounds, En Plein Air'.

Until the exhibit, I am not going to show any full shots of the
work I have done, but rather some 'slices' providing a sneak
preview of paintings that will be in the exhibit.  I am hoping
that it will tempt people to come to the Deleplaine Art Center
to see the actual paintings.

This particular slice is from a plein air painting done this
past Monday from Jefferson Rock in Harper's Ferry,
West Virginia.  I was painting with fellow artists Deb Richardson
and Linda Young, and we had quite an experience hiking down
to Jefferson's Rock and then hiking back up with our gear.
It was worth it for the amazing view of the Blue Ridge
Mountains and the confluence of the Shenandoah and
Potomac Rivers.

If you would like to see more of my work,
please visit my website or my blog. If you are
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.
