Gros bisous.

What a stunning painting, Claire! A beautiful site that holds the memories and ghosts from a horrific tragedy. Easy to understand why the tears flowed. I think they would for me too. And I'm glad you blog too!

Claire, I thought I commented yesterday! I may well be losing my marbles! I must say this is gorgeous and it is easy to see why the tears...What ghosts may be roaming here, what senselessness and sadness at the great loss of lives. A beautiful place and a gorgeous painting!

This would be a beautiful painting, regardless of the significance of the site. Such peace and beauty is especially fitting for a memorial though, I think.

Claire, a lot of emotion embodied in this painting. You do such a great job with the large foregrounds...very difficult to do. Beautifully done.
