A break from the Cape Cod Paintings! I finished this painting
up in the studio today. I inherited my love of dishes from
my mother (and her mother), so the desire to collect them
is pretty strong - especially the blue and white ones.
Several years ago I did a large painting of all blue and
white pottery (see below) - this one is smaller and
includes some flowers and grapes.

Both of these are stunning still lifes, Claire. I think you paint still lifes so beautifully. My piece that I bought has the prominent spot of over the couch in my house with three of Dean Haven's below that.
Never been a fan of collecting dishes and I usually brush right past them in antique stores. Admittedly, however, pieces such as these always stop me in my tracks.
I can't get my eyes away from these two pieces, Claire. You did an outstanding job on both of them. I have always loved blue and white pottery. It always reminds me of the past! the doilies are gorgeous ..You are SO talented!!!!!!

Je suis éblouie devant votre travail. Quelles merveilleuses toiles remplies de détails et de raffinement... On sens une grande délicatesse dans votre touche... L'harmonie et a douceur des couleurs sont aussi au rendez-vous.
