I have been so deep into my painting lately that it
feels as though I have fallen off the edge of the
earth. Because I am working on new pieces for two shows that
I am having this year, I've not put very many paintings
up on the internet (via my blog or facebook) so that
people will be enticed to come see them in person.
This is a small painting for a solo exhibit I will be having
this May at History on High in Carlisle, PA. History on High
offers this opportunity to one person per year, and I was
very humbled and honored that they have asked me to
be their exhibiting artist for 2013.
Opening Reception
Thursday, May 9, 5PM - 7PM
Light refreshments will be served
If you would like to see more of my work,
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.

This is a beautiful painting Claire. I have always been so fond of lavender. Thanks for sharing!
Claire, Thank you for sharing this little gem. I love the simplicity of the composition and value shapes. Anyway, it takes me back to Provence with the beautiful lavendar...
Oh the lavender fields are stunning. I would guess it smells beautiful for half a mile all around it too. Congratulations on being the featured artist too, Claire. It is a well-deserved honor.
There is such a balance in this painting and the color entices you. To look and look some more. Provence memories for sure.

Thank you, Randy! I will be in France very soon and hope to see some of the flowers there - if only the Spring ones!
Thank you, Sherry - there is something very wonderful about the smell of fields of lavender. The painting you purchased from me has lavender in it that is from my own garden.
Thank you very much, Susan :)

Thank you, Sue - I am always drawn to the softness of lavender - even the foliage is soft.
