Over the many years that I have lived in this
area, I must have passed this farm thousands of
times on my way home.  As each season has passed,
I have vowed to paint it.  I am glad I finally
got busy and did it!

What a beautiful homestead. I always wanted to live on a farm and I know what hard work it is. Still, seeing this place reminds me of that old dream all over again. Beautiful painting, Claire.

this is SO beautiful Claire! Definitely God's Country! I just got back from Kentucky and I took many reference pictures that reminded me of this beautiful painting!

I just found your site through Hilda's. I love the big sky and colors. Beautiful painting!

Your ability to always capture the light for the time of day is what I admire so much about your paintings. This one is dramatic with the beautiful blue, blue sky and hills.

We were in Pennsylvania two summers ago and the Amish farms there took my breath away as does your painting. I am following you now via Hilda's blog. So touched by the painting she did of your mom. My mom has been very ill this past year and Hilda has been such a sweet encouragement by leaving loving and supportive comments. I am so happy to be following your lovely work here. Greetings from Wichita, Kansas.

This is lovely, Claire. Large foregrounds are so hard to do well, but you sure made it look easy.

I love the deep feeling you've brought to this landscape, Claire. Beautiful light.
