'Conodoguinet Reflections'
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

When I was in elementary school, my
Great-Aunt Margaret's goal was to teach
me how to spell a new and difficult word
each time I visited her during summer
vacation.  She always made it fun, but didn't
give up until how I learned to spell the word
she had chosen.   'Conodoguinet' (for the
Conodoguinet Creek that ran through
Camp Hill, PA) was one of the toughest to
learn, but I never forgot how to spell it after all
of these years!

I think Great-Aunt Margaret would have
liked that I painted this, and that I remembered
how to spell the name of the creek as well :)

I can see myself sitting on the rocks alongside with my lunch and a good book!

Beautiful capture of reflections in the sky. Reminds me of the creeks in Pennsylvania. I will have to look up the location. Always love seeing your work.

Beautiful Claire! Love the balance you achieved with your composition - trees on the right with the clouds on the left. And how each one slight touches bringing my eye back around again in the painting. Very nice work!
