Thanks to a friend up on Facebook, I was
made aware that there were rolling hills
of sunflowers being grown by Messiah College
in Grantham, PA. My friend and fellow artist
Pat Koscienski and I went there to paint
yesterday.  The heavy rains we had the previous
week had beaten up the blossoms a bit, but
it still was an amazing sight to behold.

I did use some artistic license with this and had
the sunflowers facing toward me...for some
reason they were all being shy, and their faces
were pointing away from us, and toward the sun :)

My painting in progress

Glad that you took that artistic license, Claire. The sunflower field is just stunning! As is your painting. I think Pennsylvania is such a gorgeous state!
