While in Cape Cod last week, I had gone to
West Dennis Beach in the hopes of painting
the sunset, but when I turned my back to the
sunset and saw this gorgeous evening light, I
immediately knew what I would be painting. It was
cold and very windy that evening, but setting up my
gear beside the car to block the wind, I was able
to paint quickly and capture the fleeting light.
If you would like to see more of my work,
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.

So soft and beautiful, Claire! You captured a perfect moment and how gentle that time painting must have been.
Beautifully painted, Claire. It's the perfect sky!
Welcome back, Claire. It must have been really hard to leave sunsets & evening light like this. Beautiful painting!
It's just beautiful! I have trouble painting sunsets outside...I run out of time! Well done!
Thank you Sherry. I had to paint really fast - but loved every minute of it!
Thank you, Hilda! Although the sunset (to my back) was brilliant and beautiful, there was something about this softer light that really attracted me.
Pat- I love the sea, and that was what was hard to leave. I could live there and paint every day, that is for sure!
Thank you, Kimberly - this had to be painted super fast, which is why I used a small 6 x 8 canvas!
