'Tenderness'
An Original Oil Painting

When I went up to the local orchard to
get my apples recently, I noticed this pear in
one of the bins.  I was excited to see that the
leaves were still attached, and that they
hung at the top of the pear quite beautifully.
When I got home I set it up in the studio, and have
been working on it.  Think I am done with this
tender little pear.

Your style is so smooth and beautiful, so perfect for this beauty.

Today I have pears on my easel. Seeing your lovely glowing pear with the leaves has been just the inspiration needed to pick up my brush! I'm afraid my "models" aren't so pristine - and I am reminded of Helen van Wyk's advice that it's the artist's responsibility to create the beauty! You and Helen have set the bar high!

Claire, the many subtle changes in value as you mold this pear is amazing. This is a "zinger".
