'A is for Apple'
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

I have had some vintage wooden typefaces for
years.  Some are large (6 inches high), and
some are much smaller, and I have always loved
them and wanted to do something with them.
When I got my apples this fall, the idea to
incorporate them into a painting with the
typeface came into mind, and here is the result.

What an inspired use of the typeface, Claire! I think this is beautiful and I love the rustic period feel of it too. And suddenly I'm wanting apple pie...

I see those in antique stores all the time and I think they're fabulous. Love how you used it in a painting!
