'Carpet of Blue'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil on Stretched Canvas

My daughter, granddaughter Stevie and I were shopping
at the Olde Susquehanna House (in Carlisle, PA) about a week ago.
As we were leaving, my daughter spotted this amazing wooded
area behind the store's parking lot that was loaded with
blue scilla - one of my favorite Spring flowers.
The day was slightly overcast, but the blue was vibrant!

Very wonderful painting !!!
Not sure what "silla" is but it is gorgeous, Claire!! I tend to gravitate towards the blue flowers, for some reason, myself. Interesting to see that the trees haven't budded yet. We're finally seeing some buds here, just in the past week or so but they took long enough!
GORGEOUS COLORS, Claire!!! This is a beautiful piece.!!!
Gros bisous
Thanks so much, Art-Traveller!
Sherry, blue scilla is a tiny deep-blue bell-shaped flower. You can buy the bulbs and plant them in the fall so they pop up in the Spring. They are one of my favorites, and especially nice as they come up early.
Merci, Martine! Comment merveilleux pour vous et votre dalmatien à découvrir le muguet sauvage. C'est incroyable ce que l'on peut trouver en marchant dans la forêt.
Lovely painting with vibrant color! Looking past the parking lot and seeing this field must have been breathtaking! Thanks for painting it and sharing with us!
