'Midsummer Pastoral'

This was such a pleasure to paint. The scene
is from a rural area that is close to where we
have our cabin, and because the farms are run
largely by the Amish and Mennonite families, the
hay bales are actually baled with baling wire
instead of plastic. This gives the bales so much
more character, and each one retains its
own 'personality'...perfect for this artist to paint.

A WOW!
Thank you, Sue!
I always love your hay bale pieces, Claire. This is beautiful!
A beautiful scene, Claire!! You're so right.. we've been away where we see the hay bales with plastic around them and wow! such a difference! The wired bales is what we want to see!!! Love the trees and the blue mountains ..
WONDERFUL work!!!
I don't think my comment went through and I love this painting so I'll comment again.. lol.
A beautiful scene, Claire..I love the bales of hay with the wire and not the hay with the plastic around it.... as artists we want the wire around it...love the blue mountains and those gorgeous greens...NICE work!!
