'Looking Down at Devil's Den'

When I first decided to paint this view of the
Devil's Den from the Little Round Top
on the Gettysburg Battlefield, I wanted
to portray the land, the beauty of this area
in south central Pennsylvania.
That is why there are no roads, no people, no tour
buses and no monuments. Just the rolling hills and
all of those incredible boulders planted firmly in
the ground. Those rocks and the land hold the true
memories and stories of the Battle at Gettysburg.
