This is my entry for the 6/24/09 - 7/8/09 Different Strokes from Different Folks challenge sponsored by artist Karin Jurick. This was a good opportunity to work with water, and a figure.

Claire, you nailed the boat, the figure and the water, nice job!
Thank you, Dana!
Claire, great entry to the DSFDF challenge. Thanks for visiting my blog and giving me the chance to see your work here and on your website. Such talent, thanks for sharing!
Great work on the challenge! I like your treatment of the sky and water, and the figure is beautifully balanced in the boat.
Ann, I really enjoyed seeing your work as well. Thanks for commenting on this entry.
Back at you, Kathleen!
Thank you, Liz - This was a great challenge.
love the composition of the figure in the boat, and the water and reflects are well cool. Thumbs up on the challenge...
great entry for DSFDF. I had such a hard time with that horizon line keeping it straight . Yours is fabulous.
Thanks for the kind comments, Kat.
Dominique, I appreciate your mentioning the horizon line - I just had to hold my breath while I painted so that my hand didn't shake!
It helped that the piece was only 6 X 8.
Love the colors. The deep blues you have used in the reflection are terrific. Actually with a very limited palette, I think you did a super job!
What a great job, Claire! You kept the mood and enhanced it...your water moves and sky has atmosphere! Applause!
Thank you, Nithya. I enjoyed the challenge of using a limited palette.
Thanks so much, Rosemary.
Claire, I love the figure, handling of the boat and reflection, very well done!
