Another great subject to paint for Karin Jurick's Different Strokes From Different Folks Challenge. It was an interesting project in many ways - getting the posture of the gentleman, focusing on values and shapes, working on skin tones. The entries so far have been amazing, and you can see them on Karin's DSFDF Blog .

Thanks for taking a look, Denny. Landscapes are definitely what I like to paint the best.
Claire, you did a very good job on the proportions and I like the addition of the soda can. You really nailed this challenge in every way!
Thank you, Carol. This was definitely a challenge - but fun!
Nice work Claire, love the touch of red (soda can) in his hands. Your posture turned out very well also.

Hi Claire (my firstborn child's name -- you know I love it) I am admiring how well you captured the correct proportions (my achilles heel) on this figure, which was the main point of the assignment. In fact I'm about to do mine over so I can try and get his body right, like you did -- congratulations!
Thanks, Camille. I have to admit that I did not like my name as a child, but it sort of grew on me as I got older!
great entry
