PEACH TREES ON THE HILL

'Peach Trees on the Hill'
Oil 11 x 14

I was looking through my photographs, and when my
photographs of peach trees came up, I knew what to
work on.
I am happy because this is the closest I have gotten
to recreating the airy, light quality of the blossoms.
This is still in progress - I already see some
tweaks that I would like to make, but overall I am pleased
with my work today.

Very nice composition, slightly offset. I think the dark shadows lead the eye in so nicely. Great job.

I'd be pleased too, Claire. These are beautiful! I love fruit tree blossoms. I was thinking that your choice of color and technique for laying in those blossoms are what gives it that wonderful light and airy feel!

This is just beautiful. I like the composition and the breezy feel to the picture. It will be two months before we have this, but what a lovely reminder this is!

I can almost see some of those pink petals blowing off into the air. To make those trees so airy and light without them looking washed out is really hard to do. Your wise use of a strong sky and grass really pops them... that will go into my memory banks LOL

Thanks for your comments, everyone!
Catherine, I was driving throught the orchards in my area today, and the peach trees are getting a hae on them - mostly from the color of the tight blossoms. I am really looking forward to when the flowers will pop out!
