Day 63
When I found this red leaf, the bits of orange and
yellow in it, as well as those curling tips were begging
me to paint it. After taping it onto a support so that I
could study it and begin the painting, I decided that the
masking tape was going to become a part of the
painting itself. What do you think - do you think
that it works?

I really like this painting, and I think the masking tape adds too it, makes it contemporary. I've seen another artist do a series with items that were taped. Great job!
Love it! The tape really sets it off! Beautiful job on the leaf!
I agree--very interesting context for a beautifully painted leaf. (I like leaving the labels on fruit, too.)
Yes! The tape works. Why don't you do another one w/out the tape to compare.
I love the leaf, I collected some of your lovely autumn leaves in the States to put into my scrapbook, but the colours really do not last!
I like your leaves, I have been wanting to try one! They are natures treasures and an artists little gift!
I vote to keep the tape. What a unique composition. Why not paint a "scrapbook" of leaves...unlike Marie's, they would retain their color.
