RED MAPLE SHADOWS
Carlisle House Series
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Red Maple Shadows'
Oil  8 x 8

I always love to see the flowers that people plant - no matter how
stately or humble the home, there usually is a pretty splash of color
blooming somewhere in a pot or in the yard.  Several summers ago, I went
around the town of Carlisle and took some reference photographs
of some of the places I thought would be interesting to paint.  This house
had so many things about it that I thought would be fun to work with -
the fence, the flowers in the window box and the beautiful
colors of the red maple tree shading the house itself.

What a wonderful bright, fresh image to see on a dark, freezing December morning! Cheered me up! Thanks

The colors you used in this one are so fantastic! I love red maples..they seem to pop up off the landscape in the fall. My mom likes to go out for a drive to look at them when I visit her.
