A ROSE IS A ROSE
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'A Rose is a Rose'
Oil  6 x 6

I painted this for Lela Stankovik's Paint and Draw Challenge.
If you have a moment to check out the link, I hope you will.
What I like about these challenges is seeing all of the different
interpretations that are posted by each participating artist,
even though everyone is working from the same photograph.
The breadth of creativity and uniqueness of each painting is what
is so incredible.

Very nice, it is interesting to see all the different styles. I just finished roses, it was fun. Flowers aren't my strong point, you make it look easy!

Lovely painting Claire. The challenge looks fun. I think that's what I enjoy the most about teaching, watching how each student interprets a still life.

Thank you, Yasha - I would have to say that landscapes are my favorite thing to paint, especially plein air.

Mary Anne, our posts must have passed in cyberspace - I just commented on your beautiful painting of three pink roses in a blue vase!
Thank you for your commments on my painting.

Thanks, Karen. I agree with you...my most favorite part of these challenges is to see the different interpretations. We all use the same photograph, but our own style determines the final outcome.
