Several weeks ago, members from the Susquehanna Valley
Plein Air Painters met on the beautiful grounds of Allenberry to
paint. The day was sunny and the dogwoods were blooming.
As I was walking around trying to decide what to paint, I found this
dogwood with the twisted 'dancer legs' trunk, and then
noticed how the reflected color of the petals was creating a pink
glow under the curved porch's roof.

The first ballet exercise at the barre is the small knee bend, I think this tree went a little too far Beautiful painting of A-berry and should look great in their Addison room.
Ahh, Claire! This is just so beautiful! Brings to mind the fresh and clean breezes of spring. The rotunda area of the porch is just so lovely and I love the pink reflected in the ceiling. I find myself longing for a hammock on that porch, or maybe a rocker, a good book, a glass of iced tea...I also think on the people who first lived in this home.
I am always thrilled to see these very soft and beautiful paintings on your blog, Claire!Even the light is of a special quality!
Great job on the pink blossoms, Claire. You make it look easy.
Thank you all - your comments are very kind!
