'In the Deep End'
Oil
8 x 10
We took the grandkids to the lake at Colonel Denning
State Park over the Fourth of July Weekend. It was
so incredibly hot, and it was nice just to splash around
and cool down in the water. While I was there, I was
taking pictures of the kids, and also just some random
shots of people on the beach and in the lake (love
my tiny Canon camera with the 10X zoom!) I saw these
three ladies out in the deep end, and loved the way
they looked with their sunglasses - especially the lady with
the cotton top hair-do!

Claire, I really like this one. Well done!
Thank you, Pat - that means alot to me coming from you. I was a bit out of my comfort zone, ut really enjoyed working on this one!
J'aime ce travail pris sur le vif (par votre petit appareil de photo)... Une très belle capture de la lumière.
Une atmosphère qui sent la joie de vivre du moment.
Gros bisous.
There are a lot of interesting notes - the sun reflecting on the hair and the water, the sunburns. It's a very appealing painting.
Perfect way to spend the day! Nice eye for a composition, Claire. This is awesome!
I too love to take candid shots of people. No-one has a idea how far the Canon lens can "reach". My son-in -law calls me the Silent Assassin! Your ladies here are so well painted! They are cooling off but are too "cool" to wet hair and faces!
You definitely captured the moment, Claire!! It almost looks like a photograph. Beautifully done.
Merci pour vos commentaires très aimable, Martine!
Thank you, Sherry - for this comment and for the many kind and supportive comments you have left on my blog!
Thank you very much, Barbara!
So true, Marie. I like candid shots of people so much better than formal poses!
Thank you, Hilda!
