An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

8 x 10

Here's another chicken painting I have done from photos
I took last Fall when we were plein air painting on the Blue
Hound Farm.  I loved the colors in this hen the moment
I spotted her.  She liked to peck at the dirt about three feet
in front of my easel, so I was able to get some pretty
nice pictures of her without scaring her away!

So beautifully painted, Claire! I keep hearing Henny Penny squawk that the sky is falling!

Beautiful! Why did you think she was staying so close to you? She wanted YOU to paint her portrait! Your harmonious brush strokes - from the sky to the feathers to the dirt - give this piece it's own special rhythm! Love it!

Thanks so much, everyone - I really had fun painting this, and your kind comments just remind me of how much I truly enjoyed doing this!
