SIDE PORCH FLOWERS
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Side Porch Flowers'
SOLD
Oil on Canvas
24 x 20

Last Summer I painted on a beautiful farm in
Port Royal that had huge fields of sunflowers.
While there, I spotted these beautiful pots of flowers
on their side porch.  It was such an incredible day -
every where you looked there was a painting waiting
to happen!

Beautiful Claire!! I love how you painted the pots and these geraniums are the best I've ever seen!

Such a beautiful scene you've captured. I found myself wishing for a side porch...a huge yard...views of those gorgeous trees in the distance. And my daughter loves your painting, Claire. She says she can't believe how "clean" your style is. It really is stunning work.

Geraniums are the prettiest - I love the colors in which they can be aquired. I used to have luck with mine living through the winter inside..but haven't tried that in awhile. I love this painting - the colors are wow! Now, did you get any of that wintery weather a little earlier this last week? I saw over PA...that schlog of darker color on the weather map.

Cette harmonie de couleurs est simplement saisissante... Votre composition me plaît beaucoup. Les nuances bleutées sur vos pots rendent éclatantes vos plantes. Le plus petit pot placé devant crée un beau contraste. Je suis très admirative de votre travail.
Gros bisous

Thank you, Jane - I wanted that sunlit grass in the background to really set off the red geraniums. I wanted this to feel very summery - so I really appreciate that you felt that!

Thank you (and your daughter too), Sherry! It seems like no matter how humble the abode, almost every home I have ever seen has a little pot of flowers somewhere. We all want that spot of color!

Patti - we missed the bullet...all we got was some rain, thank goodness! Friends of ours got 23 inches of snow. We were afraid we were going to have a recurrence of what happened last October when we got a beavy, wet snow that knocked out our electricity for 3 days!

I try to bring my geraniums in - it is so lovely to see those bright blooms in a window.

I stopped by to see Mary Beth on Saturday and was hoping to see you as well. It was wonderful seeing your paintings at the Gallery!!
