PANSY TRIO
an Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

What a great day of plein air painting!  I went over to
my daughter's to paint her beautiful flower gardens with
my two granddaughters.  We had a beautiful, breezy day
to paint - so much fun!  See more pictures below.

What a great set-up - I was able to get out of the bright
sunlight by parking myself under their deck umbrella.

The girls painted right beside me.  I see some rather nice
looking flowers being painted...

I got a good block-in done on my second painting of the
day.  I love the variety of beautiful blue flowers my
daughter has in these beds...especially that lovely blue flower
directly to the right of my pochade box.

Don't really have to put up with this when I am out painting
in the wild...but I wouldn't give these wild things up
for anything in the world ♥

Beautiful ~ and I love the little "blue and pink flower children". The mother in me kicked in though when I saw the picture, "Is that little gal running with a sucker in her mouth?" Yikes! How wonderful though to have the little ones painting alongside you ~ and I'm sure they are gaining a ton of artistic knowledge as they are doing so. So lucky to have such a talented teacher. Happy Mother's Day!

Looks like a really wonderful family painting day, and your pansies are fabulous, the shadows enhances them perfectly.

Cathyann, I know how lucky I am to have my grandkids close by ♥
I think the pansies have been especially beautiful this year - did you post your painting?

Thanks so much, Kat!

mel - no need to worry, there wasn't any running, just lots of posing :) The girls are very observant when I paint, and I do wonder how much they are picking up!

Thank you, Jane - I think the shadows attracted me almost as much as the pansies when I was deciding what to paint!

Beautiful painting, Claire. And, what a gorgeous family. I'm glad you got these little artists started early in their career.

It is so refreshing and inspiring to see you painting in a backyard and accomplishing so much. Love the potted flowers and the red door painting beginning. Like it that 'the girls' are painting right along with you! Love little artists!
