I have always loved these flowers that seem to magically pop
up from the ground in August each year. They are
called 'Magic Lilies', or 'Surprise Lilies', and are
such a joy to find in the late summer garden. I really
enjoyed painting these today in my friend Pat's garden
(and also the delicious lunch she made for us)!
My gear on site this morning...
Pat working on her painting. Our umbrellas really came in handy
when that hot sun popped out. If you look closely you can
see two batches of 'magic lilies' among the black-eyed susans.
If you would like to see more of my work,
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see

I love these delicate pink flowers! You painted them beautifully, Claire.
Pat has such a gorgeous place! I think it would be an amazing place to paint. Your lilies are "magical" indeed, Claire. Such lovely delicate pinks against the rich foliage background.
Beautiful lilies Claire!! i love the natural background, they look so full of energy
Love the flowers. I really need to get an umbrella for painting. It limits where I can work greatly by not having one.
What a gorgeous place to paint...so inspiring! I like your magic lilies. Really like the unfocused background.
Painted beautifully, as usual, Claire. I've seen this flower, but never knew the name; thanks for the info.
