AT WATER'S EDGE
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'At Water's Edge'
Oil on Linen
14 x 18

When my husband and I were up in the woods last weekend,
I decided to hike down to this small pond that
is adjacent to our property.  As I got closer,
I was getting hints of a beautiful shade of red.
What I found was a perfect place of solitude.  There
were no other footprints than mine and those of some
deer who had stopped to take a drink...so it
only seemed fitting that I add a doe along the water's
edge in this colorful autumn scene.

Hi Claire, what a perfectly quiet scene. Your colors certainly speak that autumn solitude. What a beautiful moment in nature. Nice to know that in this world there are places where one can be totally The Only One there.

Such a gorgeous painting, Claire. It has everything I love about nature and its beauty, right down to a wild animal. I'm thinking I might just have to watch Bambi.

A gorgeous painting, Claire. The parks by me are filled with the beautiful colors of Autumn. Adding the deer in this painting just made it perfect!

Lovely, Claire. I really like the addition of the deer. A sweet little surprise.
