Last Summer I was very fortunate to be able to
paint at the Eisenhower Farm, which is part of
the Gettysburg National Military Park. I did a small
plein air study, and used it along with some
photographs I had taken to do this larger studio piece.

Une étendue de plénitude... Je prendrais bien un panier pour pique-niquer sous de bel arbre.
De très belles tonalités de vert.
Un très joli travail.
Gros bisous
You live around such beauty - I think this one is so wonderful! Hope to get near there if we take an RV excursion to Maine this spring.
Love this! I can almost feel the warmth of the air!
this is a gorgeous landscape, Claire.
It looks like a photo..beautifully done!!!
I love seeing Pennsylvania through your eyes, Claire. I think it is one of the prettiest states I've been in and is on par with Washington for its rich greenness! Having all those mountains and stone houses...sigh...Love it!
Claire I immediately thought if The Getteysburg area when I saw this painting. Although I live in New England I traveled that way when my daughter was in college. You have captured the Essenes if that area. I think I would have guessed it without reading your comments. You are a wonderful painter.
I hope my last comment went through Claire. As I could sense what. Area this is . You captured it beautifully. I live following your blog.
This is beautiful, Claire. I always have such trouble with greens, but you certainly didn't! You handled them with admirable skill. Well done!
Thanks so much, Martine!
If you get in the Gettysburg area this Spring - CALL ME, Pattie. I would love to meet you in person!!!
Thank you, Charlotte - that comment means a lot to me since I was hoping that viewers of the painting would get the sense of Summer.
Thank you, Hilda. It was such a wonderful place to begin with - and I was really excited to take my plein air painting that I created on site and use it to develop this painting!
Thank you, Sherry - I love Pennsylvania, but as I get around the country it make me really appreciate what a beautiful country we live in.
Susan, that you so much for your very kind comments! I have a special affinity for Gettysburg - it is a uniquely beautiful place!
Thank you, Darla - greens ARE a challenge, but I love it when they start to look the way I want them to :)
Awesome view. Nice painting Claire. Looks like a great place to plien air paint.
