'Rose Farm Summer'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil on linen panel
8 x 10
This little painting started it's life en plein air,
but I wound up finally finishing it in the studio.
The Rose Farm is located on the Gettysburg
National Park, and I have always admired
its unusual turquoise shutters. Several years ago,
those shutters were painted an ugly dark
green, but the following year they were back
to the original color. I was extremely happy!

The land and home are beautiful, Oh, but I love that tree! Perfect position in the painting & very well painted.
A lovely scene, Claire. I love the trees and those greens and perfect shadows...love it all!!
I love the colors you use on backgrounds - they are so real and atmospheric. You live near such wonderful sights! Are you not painting 30 in 30 anymore? That's OK< sometimes, I wish I could move on..to bigger and better, but chalking it up to much needed practice for now.
This is so beautiful, Claire. The greens in this painting is really wonderful and I love the sky as well...nice work...
