'Abandoned Homestead'

I found this old abandoned homestead while
my husband and I were meandering down our local
country roads looking for some good places
to paint. This farm sat back off the road,
and almost all of the buildings were painted
this brownish-red, and all had been deserted.
It made me sad to think that such a lovely farm
had been abandoned, but I was glad to see that
someone was still farming the land.

Very beautiful oil painting !!!
I always find myself hoping that the same family farms the land as the original owners. Sometimes they might just build a newer home on the same property in a different location? Anyway, this is just beautiful, Claire. I know I say that a lot in my comments but I never say it without meaning it. Does your husband paint too?
This is absolutely beautiful, Claire. I can see that the land is being farmed and I wish I could be the one owning this house....LOVE it!! Wonderful work as always!!
You really created something
Special, Strong and BEAUTIFUL!
Beautiful colors, Claire. You captured the mood of abandonment.
