ACORN AND LEAF I

'Acorn and Leaf I'
Oil 5 x 7

Did this little study today. I collected
some dried leaves and acorns up on the mountain
this past fall in the hopes that I could eventually do some
drawings or paintings. I am starting another one
that has more acorns...

If you would like to see more of my work,
please check out my website or my blog.
Thank you.

Love it! This makes me homesick for Maggie Valley, N.C. where we had a colorful autumn and a bountiful crop of acorns! Of course that meant lots of squirrels to tease the dog! Just look what your little painting evoked! Can't wait to see the next one~!

You did such a great job on this. Love the soft fall colors and the balance that the acorn adds. Great shadows!

My favorite season! My favorite tree! It doesn't get much better than that for me. Beautiful piece, Claire, and a nice limited palette. Helps me to remember that gorgeous scent of the season.

Very well done, Claire! Love your colors and the movement within the leaf!

Thank you Rosemary, Gwen, Sherry and Dean! Just something to play with. I am working on some larger pieces for my Maine series, and needed a break!
