SUN-KISSED

'Sun-Kissed'
Oil 12 x 16
NFS

This is one of two paintings I plan to enter into
Lemon Show.

We were in North Carolina visiting my cousins
along the Southern Outer Banks when I took some
photographs of my little grandaughter as she was
sitting in the sunlight pulling books out of a
basket. I knew that someday I would have to
paint that sweet baby skin, even knowing that
in about 10 years she will probably be annoyed
with her artist Grandma...but she'll get over it.

This is probably the only time this painting will
ever be out in public...it is going to be a 30th
birthday present for the wonderful man who
is married to my wonderful daughter. :)

If you would like to see more of my work,
please check out my website. Thanks!

Maybe in 10yrs. she wil feel that way, but I bet in 20 or 30 she will think differently. It's precious, and so well done. I love the steps that lead down and to the book she is holding. It encircles her and makes her the center star.

Look at that gorgeous baby!! They are so precious, aren't they Claire? My grandson gets quite peeved at me when I call him "baby." I have been given several stern lectures from him about this (and oh my goodness; can I hear his mother - my daughter in those lectures!!). Your SIL is so lucky to have you for his mother-in-law.

Claire - I intended to leave this on your Valentine's post but find I can't resist this beautiful child. Clearly a show-stopper... congratulations! Claire, I enjoy following your art very much and so I’m giving you the Sunshine Award for creativity and positivity in blogging! Check out my blog if you would like to accept your award. Thanks!!

Broke out in a big smile when I saw this charming painting. Love the way he's pulling up and the pattern of sunshine falling across the floor and onto his perfect little body. Precious!
