VIRGINIA BLUEBELLS
'Virginia Bluebells'
Oil on 6 x 8 Stretched Canvas
I look forward to these Virginia bluebells blossoming
at the far end of my yard each year. I planted them
in the corner under some large hemlock trees, and
enjoy the range of blues and pinks they display when
they bloom. The blossoms don't last long, so I know
there's a very limited time-frame to get them painted!
Started this today. See a couple of small things I may
tweak before I call it completely done.

beautiful bluebells, one of my fave flowers...
Claire, these are absolutely beautifully painted. What great colors and use of different values.
Beautiful painting. The Bluebells have a wonderful variation in color. Nice composition, too.
Very pretty. I love all the blues and violets you snuck into the flowers themselves.
wonderful painting, Claire!
Wow, Claire, even if you're not finished it is so sweet, the bluebells, oh the color is right on if I can remember any!

Oh so beautiful! I love the spring flowers. That these are planted under a hemlock tree just rather makes my morning. Something dark and mysterious about hemlocks (I know that one can die by hemlock poisoning).
I really like the composition, the application of paint is also nice. Nice painting overall Claire!
Thanks, everyone.
I really like this composition, Claire. That one reaching stem balances everything. Great work!
These are so pretty! I live in Virginia, and I don't think I've ever seen Virginia bluebells around here. Your painting is fresh and full of spring!
