MILKWEED
100 Paintings in 100 Days Challenge
'Inspirations from a Back Yard'

'Milkweed'
Oil 5 x 7

Day 24
Such a humble flower, yet it feeds the butterflies
with the nectar from these beautiful blooms, and then
in the fall develops unique pods that dry and
eventually split open so that the beautiful gossamer
seed wings inside can fly out into the world.

Beautiful painting, once again, Claire. I don't know if I've ever seen these, but they look like a pretty flower.
I enjoy your work, very alive with color and design, great atmosphere Phyllis O'Shields www.oshieldsfineart.com
Thank you Pat and Phyllis. Pat - you will often see these in seed pod form along the roads in the Autumn.
This is such a lovely, graceful painting - the values are wonderful!
