Day 54 and Day 55

Gourds amaze me - you plant the seeds and you never
truly know what you are going to get - so it is such a nice
surprize to find in the garden.  These are both from the
winged gourd family, and yet they have their own distinct
'personalities'.  I thought the first one was a bit devilish,
and quite perfect for Halloween!

The pits of hell and the snake....makes me wonder what is growing in my garden!...or hiding.......

Both are great little paintings,Claire, but I really like the first. It has a lot of character and the red really showcases it.

Great Googly Winged Gourds! You've so lovingly portrayed their lumps and beautiful bumps...

Love the curved shadow in #2...and the super charged background in the first!

These are lovely. The unique shapes create an interesting composition.

The top one does have a 'Little Shop of Horrors' feel to it, and I love it. Great job on the textures. You gotta love a gourd!

I was just admiring some gourds today. My daughter brought me home some small pumpkin ones, but I think they need some color. You have inspired me I think I'll go back and pick up one or two.
