Day 89
The scent of the lilies is the reason I plant them in my
garden - even more than their beauty. I have planted
lilies of many types and colors, but am always
disappointed that they seem to revert back to
their native color. This deep red-orange asian
lily is one of the few that has kept its original color
from year to year. Now if I could just figure
out how to make sure the other lilies would do the same...
If you would like to see more of my work,
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.

This is a tiny gem, beautiful!
So beautifully and delicately made, just as the birds who built this nest must have put it together. This is why I've always thrown dog hair out in the field, for the birds. I've heard that they like to use it in nests.
Lovely! Gosh I wish somebody would find me a nest with little eggs to paint, love it!!
Thank you so much, Diana!
Thanks, Sherry - I do the same thing for the birds. I also throw out snips of yarn from my knitting projects - wonder if I will ever find a nest that has some yarn entwined with the twigs, and I will recognize the yarn as some of mine? That would be so neat.
Diane, thank you for your comments. I have the greatest family - they are always on the lookout for interesting bits of nature for me to paint!
