Day 98
I had planned to go out painting with my plein air group
today, but the morning started out grey and drizzly.
Not wanting to waste the morning, I started painting on
some projects I already have in the works. By noon, the wind had
kicked the clouds out of the way, and the sun had popped out,
so I decided to paint the tree tops of the beautiful
maple trees in my yard. Even with all of the snow we
got last weekend, there were still a lot of
wonderful, colorful leaves to paint!
Only two more to go...

Good for you Claire! You came out with a beautiful piece here. Love it when the light dances on the treetops like that.
What a boon to have such a colourful tree in your back yard! It has sprung to life with your brush work!
This is just so beautiful, Claire. I just love autumn leaves! The way the branches come towards you...just beautiful depth and dimension. Another favorite for sure!
How lucky you are to have such magnificent trees !
The colours are just beautiful!
Magnificent whatyou have done with these treetops, Claire!
Thanks for you gracious comment on my DPW Challenge entry. :)
Beautiful painting.
Beautiful Autumn colors!
Just beautiful!!! Love your color and glorious brush work!
Giselle - thanks so much for your comments! I have always loved trees, and when those leaves start to change color in the Fall, it is sublime :)
Padmaja - we have about four of these sugar maples along the side of our house, and in the Fall when the sun shines on the brilliant color of the leaves it fills the house with golden light!
As always - thank you, Sherry!
Thanks, Azra. I love living among the trees - when I am in my studio and it is snowing it feels as though I am in a big treehouse!
Thanks so much, Dean!
Isabel, the Fall leaves don't last very long, but their color is such a joy!
Thank you very much for your kind comments, Lorraine.
