'Shade Under the Lilacs'
Oil
8 x 8
I was at the Stoneybrook Iris Farm painting when I spotted
these chickens resting in the shade of the
lilac bushes. I think the rooster was aware that I
was taking some photographs of them, because he
suddenly became very alert...never mess with a rooster!

Sigh...my favorite flower in the whole world! I can almost smell their fragrance from here! Smart chickens and rooster!
I am loving your chicken series and the lilacs are so beautiful.
Lovely and romantic atmosphere. gorgeous luminosity!
a lilac farm..how neat! roosters are fun..i have a dumb one. he is a little banty who has a harem of another banty, which is easier than the big sussex (2 girls total) but he tries all the same...my favorite thing to do, watch the chickens.
I remember this day, Claire. Great job!
The chickens add to this beautiful painting...The Lilacs are so beautiful..I can't wait till Spring!!
