We all know what happened to Adam and Eve in
the Garden of Eden when they succumbed to temptation...
How could I not be tempted to paint this gorgeous
yellow delicious apple with its crown of leaves?
What's truly amazing is that this is one of the apples
that I got at Hollabaugh's Orchard in Biglerville, PA early
in the Fall of last year, and it has stayed in perfect
condition right up until about a week ago.

Claire, as always your work is just gorgeous! I love seeing fruit paintings with the leaves still attached. It adds so much more life to the piece.
The title is lovely and the painting has a masterly feel to it.. like those you see in museums!
You painted this apple beautifully, Claire!! Love those beautiful green leaves as well!!!
Thank you , Sherry! The leaves were the real attraction - they had so much movement and were a delight to paint!
You make me blush, Padmaja - thank you for your very kind comments!
Thank you, Hilda! I think this photograph is slightly more yellow than the painting. Those subtle greens in the apple's leaves were really gorgeous.
Fabulous Claire, love the strong simplicity of this and love the title. Great art work!
Thank you for your comments, Jane. Sometimes the titles come to me before paint even hits the canvas - when that happens I write it down in pencil on the edge of the canvas so I don't forget! This was one that came to me about midway through the painting, and seemed very appropriate!
Wonderful detailing and silhouette on those leaves, very lovely.
Very tempting indeed, Claire! Wonderfully done!
Fabulous job!
This is beautiful! So classical!!!
Beautiful light and colours. Love the curls of the leaves too.
