STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES
An Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Stop and Smell the Roses'
 Plein Air
Oil on Linen Panel
11 x 14

Day Two of the second annual Camp Hill Plein Air Event.

Today Linda Young and I paired up to go painting,
and after checking out Negley Park in Lemoyne, we decided
to go back to Camp Hill...and what a fortuitous
decision that was.  We found this incredible garden
that only gave a hint of it's magnificence from the street.
The owner gave us permission to come right into
her back yard to paint, and we literally walked into paradise.
Thanks so much, Pat Anastasio!

Here is my painting from today, which was
done entirely on site, except for adding my
signature, and the letters on the stop sign.

Linda working on her watercolor of the gardens.

Gros bisous.

Your work is always so beautiful, Claire. This piece ranks right up there next to my own CBC piece as a favorite. What a gorgeous cottage! Once we own this yard and get a fence, I might want to try something similar to this in my teeny backyard!

What a little jewel! I can almost smell the roses! You did a fantastic job and no doubt enjoyed every stroke! Love the shadow patterns dancing across the walkway!
