SUMMER AT THE ROSE FARM
An Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Summer at the Rose Farm'
Gettysburg Festival Art Colony  2012
Oil
9 x 12

My final painting from the Gettysburg Festival Artist Colony
is of the historic Rose Farm on the Gettysburg National
Military Park.  I took the path up by the ruins of the
old stone barn, and then found a nicely shaded tree line.
I think four of us artists actually settled there (there was an
excellent view from every vantage point), and it
was nice to have company while we painted and avoided
the enormous groundhog holes!

Very impressive and deep, tempts me to go down the winding path and explore further!

I just want to walk down that path myself. Beautiful shade! Beautiful place.

Such a lovely peaceful feel to this.... I could enjoy walking down that pathway. I wonder what is beyond that bend....

Super painting, Claire! I really like the line of shaded foliage! As a matter of fact, you handle all the foliage very nicely.
